Notes
Roosenboom was one of the most talented pupils of Andreas Schelfhout, which clearly shows in his summer- and winter landscapes. Elements such as the low horizon, the attention given to detail and the balance created between foreground and background also show the example of the master.
The good market for his paintings made it possible for him to travel and work in Germany, Belgium, Scotland and England.
His works can be found in several museums, such as the Frans Halsmuseum in Haarlem and Museum Boymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
