Evgeni Samsonov was born in 1926 in Podolsk. In 1948 he graduated from the Surikov Art Institute in Moscow. In 1954 he started to participate in exhibitions. He took part in many of the yearly Exhibitions of Russian Painters in Moscow. Other important exhibitions were The 40 th anniversary of the October Revolution (1957), The Art of Socialism (1957), International Exhibition in Venice (1958), the exhibitions Soviet Russia (Moscow 1960, 1963, 1967 and 1975), the All Union Exhibitions (Moscow 1961, 1965, 1966) and several other regional and national exhibitions. Samsonov held personal exhibitions in Moscow in 1963, 1974, 1976, 1978, 1984, 1987 and 1990.
