Notes
Charles Lapostolet was a French 19th Century painter who was born in 1824. He debuted at the Paris Salon of 1848 and exhibited there until 1882. He won medals in 1870 and 1882. He became friends with Eugene Boudin whom he met in Honfleur. A marine painter, his compositions are inspired by those of the Dutch painters of the seventeenth century.
