NotesHendrik Gerritsz. Pot, Hendrik also spelled as Hendrick, nickname Oost-Indiën Pot (Amsterdam, 1580/1581 - buried there, October 15, 1657) was a Dutch painter, draftsman, miniature painter and decorative painter.
Before 1603 he would have been a student of Karel van Mander. From about 1603 to 1650 he was active in Haarlem, with an interruption in 1631 and / or 1632, when he lived in London. In 1606 he was registered with the Haarlem militia. On June 7, 1650 he became an official citizen of Amsterdam. From that year until his death he lived in that city. He was buried in the Oudezijds Chapel in Amsterdam.
Van Pot is known for paintings, portraits and (vanitas) still lifes.
