Notes

An exquisite example of the best works that were made by this internationally renowned painter. Bom-schuiten are moored in low tide, fishermen with wagons are wading through the water.

Leeuwarden, Fries Museum, ‘Mesdag en de Zee’, 1999, cat. p. 35;  on loan to the West-Fries Museum in Hoorn from February 200 to November 2002, where it was hanged in the so-called guest room,  a room where private collectors could show their collections (we want to thank Mr Cees Bakker of the Museum for this info).;
